Volumetric 6-DoF measurement system for mechanical engineering, calibration & automationThe ELWIMAT®-VFS 6000 is a highly precise optical measurement system for simultaneously capturing all 6 degrees of freedom (6 DoF) of a spatial axis: linear movement, straightness, tilt, yaw, and roll angles. With absolute position determination, a wireless reflector, and an integrated software solution, the ELWIMAT®-VFS 6000 is ideal for demanding calibration and adjustment applications on coordinate measuring machines, machine tools, and precision axes – even over long distances.
Simultaneous 6-DoF measurement in one setup
One sensor, one reflector – and the entire spatial movement in view: position, straightness, tilt, and roll angles are captured in one measurement. This significantly reduces measurement effort and lowers calibration and downtime costs.
Highest precision even over long distances
With a resolution of up to 0.001 µm in linear movement and < 0.3 arc seconds/m on rotational axes, the ELWIMAT® 6000 meets the highest accuracy demands – even over distances of up to 80 m.
Compact, wireless, and mobile
Thanks to battery operation, wireless reflector, and compact sensor format, the system is also ideal for mobile use – even in vacuum environments or vertical positions.

Software control & Industry 4.0 integration
The evaluation is done via a robust 11" touch module (IP65) with an intuitive interface. Data is displayed live graphically, with logging functionality and interfaces such as USB 3.0, RS232, and JSON for integration into custom systems.
